Is it True that once you get married your credit and debt become one?

I heard that it does, but why would it and is there a way that you can get married with out having my debt or credit get joint to whom I marry? Is it True that once you get married your credit and debt become one?
Morally and realistically yes. Legally no. If a credit card account only has your name on it, then it is your card and not your spouses. If you were to divorce, the obligation would be yours alone. Is it True that once you get married your credit and debt become one?
Your credit does NOT join who you marry. The only person responsible for a debt, is the one who's name is on there. Thats it. Period.
